Weather

What's the weather like?

At the IC Astronomy remote telescope hosting facility at Oria in Spain we run numerous weather stations.

We have our web-based Davis Vantage Pro II that we use for our customers to get a real-time set of weather data from our website
This monitors Dew point, Humidity, Temperature, Rain, Wind speed and direction and also has a barometer.

On this page you will see some graphs that show current and historical weather data from the Davis system.  These graphs are updated every 15 minutes - and your web browser should refresh every 5 minutes to ensure that you see the latest information.

In addition, we also have separate weather systems for each roof which consists of a whole array of sensors that open and close the observatory roofs autonomously when the parameters fall within the safe limits.

We have also added a live stream daytime camera, this gives our clients a good idea of what to expect for the night.

Luckily for us we also have the webcams from Calar Alto, the north facing camera shows the whole vista of which ICAstronomy is part of, giving a great overview of the region; click the link below to access this.
